There will be a ‘show fee’ to take part in the show of £30 per month, or £20 a month for students. You can also pay in full upfront. See our store page for more information.
We hold free taster sessions before starting rehearsals for each show to give you an idea of what a Meadowlark rehearsal is like.

Join our musical theatre group for an inclusive and supportive community. We welcome all backgrounds and skills for our next show. Collaborate, make friends, and learn new skills. Come along to your first rehearsal completely for free to help you decide!
We rehearse 7-9pm on Tuesdays and 1-5pm on Sundays at The Arts Centre in Guildford (GU1 2RE). Whilst you might not always be called for the full session, our rehearsal schedule will be jam-packed so it’s best to keep this time free each week. In some cases, it will be possible for us to adapt or amend our schedule to suit your availability, but please reach out to our team to discuss this before signing up for a show. Our rehearsal location is to be confirmed!
Not at all! All levels and abilities are welcome.
Showcases: If you’d like to perform in one of our showcases, we will ask you to audition (even if you just want to be part of the ensemble) – but we will guarantee that everybody who auditions will be part of the show.
The audition process will involve an individual singing audition (a song of your choosing from our showcase setlist, which will be released prior to the audition dates) and sometimes a group dance audition – but don’t worry, no-one will be asked to dance on their own! These auditions will simply be to see which numbers we think you’d be best suited to, we will not be judging based on ability or experience.
Main shows: The audition process for each main show will differ depending on the creative team, but the same principle will apply – everybody who auditions to be in the show will be able to take part.
There are a variety of ways in which you can get involved at Meadowlark – we welcome applications for the creative team for our main shows which includes: director, choreographer, musical director, costume designer, set designer, stage manager, and more. We’re also always on the lookout for technical support for our showcases so if that’s something you’d like to assist with, please get in touch!
Each show will have a show fee which will vary from show to show – please see our Store page for further information. Payment plans can be arranged on a case-by-case basis – please contact the Committee to discuss this. Our goal is never to make a profit, but simply cover the costs of the shows so we can all keep doing what we love – performing!
We spend 3-4 months rehearsing for one show, which will either be a showcase (a selection of our favourite musical theatre songs) or a full musical show. Once the show is over, we will then have a short break to open taster sessions up to new members and start the whole process again!
